PROS AND CONS

Its excellent reproduction and clarity from bass into the high end certainly makes this item very popular. Sound quality is so impressive. Amazingly, it can go as detailed as hearing even the individual voices of backup singers. But there is a complaint though on the low bass response. Just adjust the equalizer settings and that problem becomes an issue no more.

These headphones are wise buy and a lot of pros who use this in recording studios and on movie locations will certainly agree. However in terms of wear-and-tear, Sony fails expectations. The earpads are defective. Also, after long period of usage, it brings such discomfort as the ear pads are tiny, and pressure the earlobes and cause the ears to get hot and sweaty.  Another sad thing apparent is the non-removable, long, thick, heavy-duty coiled cable which is a great buddy when used on a home stereo, but becomes bulky when carried around or when used outdoor on a digital audio source.

In enclosed areas, you can modify volumes to low and still get the same quality audio. But in cases of sound monitoring in rather noisy areas, you need to set it to a higher volume to obtain clarity but then you put your hearing into great risk. That’s when Sony MDR 7506 comes in as an angel with its superb closed-design remarkably shutting out environment noise. That same feature also works as concealing the sound within; it lets out no sound leakage therefore you don’t become a disturbance to those around you while you are listening to your music or monitoring some recordings.

Overall, this is a very well engineered set of headphones that boasts of great sound reproduction and good bass at an amazingly reasonable price. But don’t be misled. The reason why it’s cheap is not because it is of poor quality. This actually meets the standards of the industry with bigger needs, but comes cheap because of the market volume, as it intends to cater to the vast group of audio and video pros.

And this is highly recommended. Sony MDR 7506 offers a considerable number of options for practically everyone – from the casual user to the studio audio pro. It is guaranteed that once you get hold of the brilliance of MDR 7506, you will find it difficult to consider using other headphones.

Busy audio pros, in a breeze you can just fold and store your new babe in its soft drawstring bag, and you’re ready for your next assignment!
