PROS AND CONS

MDR-V6 is definitely good at isolation than other products who claim they instilled the same feature in their gadgets. The circum-aural over-ear feature designed to efficiently shut out ambient noise works very well and in effect produces the best audio there is, and the ear pads feel nice. However, the headphone becomes a disturbance after long period of usage. Made of a very wide metal and its cover is vinyl-padded, it looks awkward and doesn’t give well and snug fit. It is too wide that it can just fall off or bow down and be so disturbing. Moreover, it is heavy and the weight is somewhat concentrated on the top part of the head causing grave discomfort. Also, the padding fails the wear and tear criteria.

And here’s another gripe. This model’s telephone-like cord which appears to be a lot easier to handle than the straight ones, is extremely heavy, not to mention its enormous jacks. It may come in as a durable feature, but it depicts what Sony claims it to be:  portable.

The audio quality is something to really brag about. The treble sounds unusually loud considering it’s coming from a small gadget. But this can be a plus factor only to certain categories of songs. Otherwise, the feature is annoying. In some instances, the bass comes in weakly and seem to lack fullness. That’s good and will complement all music types except for rock music or the like.  In short, to be able to really enjoy your music, you have to be up and alert to be able to modify and adjust the equalizer to get the desired treble and bass. But that could be a minor problem that one can afford to overlook.

Overall, MDR-V6  is another extraordinary produce by Sony, with its amazing sound quality, and very precise and crisp clear highs, lows, and mids because it is equipped with a bass that complements instead of restricting the other features. And it may appear to be too big, heavy and uncomfortable, but Sony MDR-V6’s folding design allows for quick packing for busy pros. It comes with a neat soft case for compact storage.

With a considerably low price, the amazing sound quality using 40mm driver unit, efficient isolation technology, comfy ear cups, wide frequency response plus a handful more, audio gurus will certainly go about recommending this remarkable Sony headphone.

It is after all a “so much for less” deal. Ever dreamed of paying less for a very portable yet efficient audio buddy?  MDR-V6 is IT.
